Lost

Last night I watched the second episode of the second season of Lost. What a great show. At the end of each show, I just wish it could keep going. I want to know what happens next.

The best part about the beginning of this season is that they didn't draw out the discovery of what was in the hatch. At least we know what is down there now, if not why or how. Here are my observations and questions:

1. The guy, Desmond, who is in the hatch .. he said he was preparing for a race around the world. Did he also crash on the island? Was anyone with him?
2. Most of the stuff in the hatch seems old (70s/early 80sish), but some of it seems new.
3. There is some kind of huge magnet. Did the magnet have anything to do with the plane crashing, or the French woman being shipwrecked? How did it get there?
4. Does the magnet and/or the computer control the noises and trees that make it look like there is a big monster?
5. The number sequence (4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42) add up to 108. When Locke types the numbers into the computer, the "clock" on the wall resets to 108:00. Before that, it appears to be counting down by the second. So, does that mean every 108 minutes, the numbers have to be entered into the computer? What will happen if they aren't?

All that stuff is more interesting to me than the "Others". There are obviously other people on the island from before the Oceanic flight crashed. And there are also obviously other people from the back of the same plane on the island that we haven't seen yet. They may or may not have some illness that makes them crazy. Which is all well and good.. but I want to know about the numbers and the hatch and Desmond. Where did all that food and equipment come from? It seemed like he had a few NEW appliances, and fruit and stuff that would indicate he is receiving new things. Is that true? What is that logo that was on the wall? It looked like it said Dharma on it. The fact that Desmond was expecting Locke to know some kind of code and has all those weapons, and that military style logo.. it seems like there is some kind of military experiment involved here.

Anyway.. great show. I can't wait for next week.
